WESLA Federal Credit Union began in 1971 with a simple purpose: to serve the hardworking employees of Western Electric. When major layoffs shook the community in the 1980s, WESLA Federal Credit Union didn’t back down — we evolved. By welcoming new Select Employee Groups and later merging with eight local credit unions, including the Caddo Teachers Association Credit Union, we strengthened our foundation and deepened our commitment to the people of Northwest Louisiana.
That spirit of resilience and community led to a major milestone in February 2000, when the NCUA granted WESLA Federal Credit Union a community charter. This allowed us to open our doors to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Caddo or Bossier Parish.
Today, we’ve grown to more than $90 million in assets and thousands of members — but our mission has stayed the same: put people first, provide honest and dependable financial solutions, and build relationships that last a lifetime.
