Important Phishing Scam Information
Wesla Federal Credit Union will never request a member's personal or account information via email, text message, or other methods of electronic communication. Please be advised that any attempt to contact a member using these methods should be considered a possible phishing scam.

Phishing is an internet scam that uses unsolicited e-mail to lure consumers into disclosing sensitive personal information. The fraudsters traditionally target a company the potential phishing victim does business with, such as a financial institution. The scammers send an e-mail telling recipients they need to “update” or “validate” their billing information to keep their accounts active, or to keep from being billed for a "fraudulent" transaction. These emails usually contain a link to a site that imitates the look of the institution's legitimate site. One of the best ways to fight this type of fraud is to educate yourself and be aware of a possible scam before it happens to you. Be cautious when providing information, and learn the steps you can take to help protect your sensitive and personal information in an attempt to stay ahead of these criminals and keep from getting "hooked".
